SHERIFF: Lenoir County Case Appears Not Related To "Hole In The Wall" Break-Ins

More Video...

Lenoir County Sheriff Chris Hill says an attempted break-in this morning of a business outside of Grifton does not appear to be related to a rash of "hole in the wall" cases in neighboring Pitt County.

Burglars tried to get into Stoney Creek Outfitters on Highway 11 south of Grifton sometime overnight.

Owner David Godwin says they pulled his store's electric meter, in an attempt to disable his alarm system, but it was triggered anyway. They then tried to pry open the back door.

Sheriff Hill says they do have a person in mind for this attempted break-in but so far no one has been arrested.
