An Ayden man has been charged with multiple child sex offenses today.
Winterville police, along with assistance from the Pitt County Sheriff's Office and Ayden police arrested David Books.
In Winterville the 62-year-old man has been charged with five counts of soliciting a child by computer, while Ayden police have charged him with two counts of statutory rape/sex offense, one count of crime against nature and one count of indecent liberties with a child.
Books is in jail on a $1,050,000 bond and police say additional charges are pending.
