UPDATE: Man Charged With Weekend Rocky Mount Homicide

The Rocky Mount Police Department has made an arrest in a weekend homicide.

Investigators arrested 36-year-old Sean White of Tarboro for the shooting death of 40-year-old Christopher Curtis. Curtis was found with a gunshot wound outside the American Legion Marshall Pittman Post # 173 and was pronounced dead at the hospital about 3:20 a.m. Sunday.

White is charged with first degree murder. He received no bond and is being held in the Edgecombe County Jail. Investigators are continuing the investigation to identify other possible witnesses.

Police in Rocky Mount say they are investigating a Sunday morning homicide.

Authorities say they responded to a shooting at 401 Madison St., the American Legion Marshall Pittman Post # 173, located in east Rocky Mount.

Lawmen report there they found Christopher Lorenzo Curtis, age 40, outside of the business with a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported by EMS to Nash Healthcare Systems where he was pronounced deceased at 3:20 a.m.

Authorities say, the suspect in this case is described as a black male, age range 35-40, 5 ft. 7 in., 175 lbs., wearing a gold denim jacket and pants, black shirt and brown Timberland boots.

They say the suspect fled the scene, possibly operating a white Honda Accord with a black hood.
