It may be a busy time of the year as tax day is just over a week away, but one Rocky Mount tax preparer is spending it in jail.
The state Department of Revenue today arrested Eugene Harrison of H&J Tax Solvers.
The 47-year-old man is charged with 19 counts of aid or assist in the preparation of fraudulent tax returns and one count of willful failure to file a North Carolina individual income tax return.
Harrison is accused of filing fraudulent returns for customers in 2010 and 2011, as well as not filing his own personal state return for 2011.
The man was jailed on a $501,000 bond and has a Monday first appearance in Wake County.
