Rocky Mount Police Arrest Woman On First-Degree Murder Charges

Police say a man injured in a domestic disturbance has died and now the person responsible is in jail.

Rocky Mount Police say 60-year-old Joan Johnson is charged with first-degree murder. Just before 8:00 Wednesday night, police responded to a home on the 1500 block of Sunset Avenue.

We're told the victim, 61-year-old Arthur Galloway, was taken to Nash General and then transferred to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville where he died.

Details are few and police haven't said what happened or how the two knew each other.
