A vacant seat on the Pit County School Board has been filled, and the man who won the job says he's ready to hit the ground running.
The Pitt County Board of Education appointed Robert Moore to fill the district 1 vacancy. At Monday night's meeting, the board interviewed three different candidates before unanimously voting in Moore's favor. Moore had 2 daughters graduate from J.H. Rose, and currently works at the Sara Lee corporation in Edgecombe County. He says he'll retire from that position in May, but prefers to call it "a career transition" into his position with Pitt County.
