Attempted Robbery In Front Of Bank ATM Near ECU

Police said nothing was taken during an attempted strong arm robbery in front of a bank teller machine.

Greenville police say it happened around 10:45 a.m. on East 10th Street in front of the Wells Fargo ATM. That's near the ECU campus.

The man tried to grab a woman's purse. When she resisted, the would-be robber ran toward the McDonalds, according to police.

The attempted robber is described as a white man in his 30s, approximately 5'8", wearing a white T-shirt, white board shorts, and flip flops. Police are actively searching for the man.

The woman victim was not injured.

Police are investigating a robbery that happened near a post office substation in Greenville.

An ECU alert says around 10:50 a.m. a strong armed robbery happened at the 10th Street location.

Police said the robbery happened on the sidewalk.

The robber was a white man, wearing a white shirt, white shorts and flip flops. The alert says he was last seen heading away from campus towards 14th Street.

Greenville police have multiple units, including K-9s, in the area.
