(NBC News) 170 American troops are now in Iraq, securing the U.S. embassy and moving some staffers out of Baghdad.
As militant forces push toward the city, President Obama is insisting Iraq's Shiite government include more Sunnis before the U.S. considers airstrikes.
Before meeting with his national security team last night, President Obama informed Congress he may send 100 more.
Officials say he's considering special forces that will be equipped, but not instructed, to fight.
