Richlands Family Loses Home To Blaze; Related To Family Of 2012 Fire Tragedy

A family in the east no longer has a home after a Saturday evening fire.

Onslow County Fire Marshall Brian Kelly says that the fire happened around 7:15 Saturday night at 132 Humphrey Boulevard in Richlands.

Kelly says that nobody was home at the time, and that a neighbor saw flames at the home, then called 911.

Firefighters battled the blaze until about 11:30 Saturday night.
Due to the extent of the damage Kelly says the fire will be ruled undetermined.

Kelly says this family is related to the Pittman family, who lost 3 of their 8 children in an Onslow County fire back in February of 2012.
