A new Walmart in New Bern is looking to hire 100 people and many are very excited for the opportunity.
It's the second Walmart in the East hiring at the moment.
The hiring center is filled with people ready to start working there.
Store Manager Angela Ross says, "We get the process moving immediately. If we have qualified candidates, they are set up for an interview within 28 to 48 hours."
One of those candidates is Christina Taylor. She's a marketing student at Craven Community College, hoping to get some real world experience.
Taylor says, "I have a second interview Monday. So it's been pretty good actually."
John Stoute is also crossing his fingers for a new career with the retail giant. He's been unemployed and looking for a good job for two years.
Stoute says, "It's been pretty tough. I've taken some temporary positions where I actually had to leave the state to go work for two months. The job would end, I would be laid off and scrambling to find another job. This is fantastic. This is a heck of an opportunity."
60 people have already been hired, but Walmart is looking for 40 more. They need employees to stock, sell, work the cash register, perform maintenance, and even work at the store's future gas station.
You can apply online or go straight to the hiring office. It's open from 8-5 Monday through Friday at 1315 S. Glenburnie Road in New Bern.
The new store, located on Neuse Boulevard, is set to open April 9th.
