Eastern Carolina will be trending drier Tuesday through the end of the week as a stationary front finally weakens over the area.
Skies will go from mostly to partly cloudy Tuesday with a few showers still being squeezed out of the clouds, but the heavier showers should stay offshore.
The drying process will continue through Saturday with just a 20% chance of a storm returning on Thursday with a cold front approaching the area.
As sunshine increases the next few days, temperatures will climb. HIghs in the 80s are expected Tuesday afternoon with highs near 90 Wednesday.
