Showers will be scattered at first before steady rain develops this evening. Overall rainfall accumulations during the event will average nearly 1". A few locations could see over 1.5" where heavier rain bands develop.
The low pressure system will move in from the southwest this evening and exit the area tomorrow morning. The forecast will be dry after 11am on Friday, but expect the ground to be saturated.
Eastern Carolina will see clearing skies by Saturday morning with lots of sunshine featured for the weekend. Highs will be near 60° Thursday through Saturday but a strong warming trend will begin on Sunday. Our temperatures will be well into the 70s by early next week.
