President Of Vidant Medical Center Appointed To State's Health Coordinating Council

Vidant Medical Center's President Steve Lawler was recently appointed vice-chairman of the North Carolina State Health Coordinating Council by Governor Pat McCrory.

The council directs the development of the annual State Medical Facilities Plan. It receives support from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Health Service Regulation and Medical Facilities Planning Section.

Lawler has served as president of Vidant Medical Center in Greenville since 2007. Prior to taking the helm at Vidant, Lawler served as chief administrative officer of the health system. He has more than 30 years of health care experience.

Lawler's term on the council will expire at the end of 2016.
