About 500 customers in Greenville experienced a power outage Wednesday night when a piece of equipment on a utility pole failed.
The area impacted was10th street from Portertown Road all the way back up to about Hastings Ford along Greenville Boulevard.
We're told a sleeve that holds the utility wires together separated and caused the wires to fall to the ground and trigger the outage that impacted homes and some traffic lights.
Crews were able to quickly isolate and route power back to a majority of customers.
