Police Nab Break-In Suspect

Quick action by Greenville police has landed a car break-in suspect behind bars.

Around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, police got a call of the break-in in progress near the KinderCare Learning Center. A witness saw a suspicious man running with a purse in his hands.

A patrol officer detained a man near the dumpster behind the Rite Aid on Stantonsburg Road, and police were able to recover a purse, wallet and $50 stolen from her car.

Travis Worthington of Grifton was charged with felony motor vehicle break-in and larceny, along with misdemeanor larceny. Bond for the 19-year-old was set at $25,000.
