Police Seeking Info In Assault During Dogwood Festival

Police in one Pitt County town are asking for information from the public to help them solve an assault that happened during a festival two weeks ago.

Farmville police say it happened April 27th around 10:15 p.m. during the Dogwood Festival near the intersection of Wilson and Fields streets. Police say what started out as a verbal dispute turned into a fight between two men in a festival parking area, and one of them was cut with an object.

A witness told police that after being cut, the victim hit the other man several times in the face.

Several people were walking by the area at the time of the fight and police are hoping someone might come forward and identify the man. He is described as a white man in his early 20s, slender build, about 5'8" tall with brown medium length hair. Police say he may have some bruises on his face.

Anyone with information should call Farmville police at 252-753-4111.
