NASHEVILLE, NC (AP) - Police in Nashville say it appears that a man killed his son, set fire to their home and then killed himself.
Police Chief Tom Bashore said the fire Monday afternoon appears to have been the result of the murder-suicide.
Fifty-three-year-old Joseph Christopher Williams was taken to Nash General Hospital where he died.
His 10-year-old son, Bobby, was taken to the same hospital and was transferred to the Jaycees Burn Clinic at University of North Carolina Hospitals-Chapel Hill where he died.
Bashore said Williams died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and burns. Bobby Williams died from several gunshot wounds and burns.
Will Farris, an attorney who represented the family in allegations they ran a puppy mill said the family has been under pressure for some time.
