A school bus accident this morning in Washington sent multiple rescue crews to the scene.

It happened at the intersection of Hackney Avenue and Fowle Drive shortly after 8:30 a.m.

Beaufort County Schools spokeswoman Sarah Hodges says there were 34 children on the bus. No students were transported to the hospital by EMS. But at least one parent told us she was taking her son to the hospital to be checked out.

The bus was only blocks away from John Cotten Tayloe Elementary School with second and third graders.

The accident involved a school bus and a car. While there was minimal damage to the bus, the car received heavy front end damage.

Washington police are still investigating what caused the wreck.
