Police are investigating an overnight break-in at a local sports bar, where the intruder tried to break in to the restaurant's A.T.M.
It happened around 3:30 a.m. Monday at A.J. McMurphy's in Greenville. Surveillance video shows a man walking through the bar, wearing a sweatshirt and carrying some sort of tool.
Police say the person broke the glass out of multiple parts of the front of the building to get inside, then tried to cut open the A.T.M. before breaking another glass door to get away. Nothing was taken, but the damage is estimated at $1,000.
Officers arrived after alarms went off and smelled a strong odor of natural gas inside. They're unsure if that has anything to do with the break-in itself.
