Police Find Pot On Robbery Victim

A man was robbed during a drug deal and when police showed up to investigate the victim still had the drugs with him.

Greenville police say it happened early Saturday morning in the parking lot of the Economy Inn on Stantonsburg Road.

Police say the victim told them he met the robber in the parking lot of Dreams Tobacco and they agreed to meet again in the hotel parking lot to buy marijuana.

The victim told police during the deal the man pulled a knife and tried to rob him. The two fought, and the robber got one of the victim's gold-colored chains, an "Angry Bird" pendant. But the victim apparently got his weed.

Police say when they arrived the victim had 17 grams of marijuana on him, which they seized. No word yet if the victim will face charges for the pot.

Police released hotel surveillance video of the robber and ask anyone who can identify him to call Greenville police at 252-329-4315.
