Police: Child Found In Car With Adults Drinking, Smoking Pot

Greenville police charged four adults they say were drinking and smoking marijuana in a car while a nine year old child was with them.

Officers running a checkpoint Tuesday evening near B's BBQ and MacGregor Downs Rd. say they noticed a car with a strong odor of marijuana coming from it. Inside the car, officers say they found four adults who were smoking pot and drinking, along with a nine year old child. Three of the adults also had outstanding warrants for their arrests.

Police searched the vehicle and say they recovered marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and 30 pills. When the suspects arrived at the jail, one admitted she also had cocaine. 31-year-old Niki Woodruff is charged with simple possession of a schedule IV substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, child abuse, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling place for a controlled substance and driving while license was revoked. Wilson Stewart, 36, is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and an open container violation. Travis Causey, 33, is charged with having unsealed wine or liquor in a passenger area. Christina O'Brien, 32, is charged with being intoxicated and disruptive, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, and having unsealed wine or liquor in a passenger area.
