A 13-year old and her grandmother were transported to the hospital Monday after their car hit a truck and ended up in a ditch.
Trooper W.A. Hardison with the Highway Patrol says it happened on Highway 903 near Stokes Elementary School in Pitt County. Hardison says the blue sedan was traveling south, and was attempting to pass a gray Chevy pickup when the truck turned. The woman and her granddaughter were transported to Vidant in Greenville with minor injuries. The driver and passenger of the pickup weren't hurt in the crash. The northbound lane of 903 was closed from 4:15 p.m. until around 6:00 p.m. No charges have been filed at this time.
