NEW INFO: Pitt County Model Accused Of Stealing Mom's Jewelry

A Pitt County model is accused of stealing jewelry from her mother and then pawning it off for cash.

Tyffany Linder, 19, is charged with obtaining property by a false pretense, two counts of larceny and two counts of possession of stolen property. Deputies say her occupation is listed on the arrest report as Monster Energy Modeling.

Deputies say the woman was arrested last Wednesday and then again on Monday. She's charged with stealing jewelry from her mother and then selling the loot at Carolina Gold and Trade It.

So far deputies have recovered diamond rings, wedding bands and a gold bracelet from the pawn shop.

Linder and her boyfriend, Irving Villanueva, were arrested by deputies last Wednesday when they say the two were caught in the middle of a burglary on Elkhorn Court. That break-in led to the discovery of a man's body in a home on nearby Trails End as deputies were checking neighborhoods for any other break-ins.

It turns out the death of Michael Simmons, who had Down syndrome, was a result of natural causes.

Deputies say their investigation into last week's charges against Linder brought about the stolen jewelry and the additional counts against the woman.

Linder was booked under a $75,000 bond.
