Pitt County Vigil Held For Newtown Shooting Victims & Families

Dozens of people gathered in Greenville Tuesday night for a candlelight vigil for the Newtown, Connecticut shooting victims and their families.

The Pitt County NAACP sponsored "A time of prayers, love and unity," at 6:00 p.m. on the steps Pitt County Courthouse.

Community leaders, including Pitt County Sheriff Neil Elks, Greenville Police Chief Hassan Aden, and Pitt County Schools Superintendent Beverly Emory attended.

Prayers were said for the 26 lives lost Friday, for the victims' families, and for protection of our children.
