Pitt County Sheriff's Office Vehicle Wins D.A.R.E. Car Show

The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office won first place in a D.A.R.E. car show for it's flashy, flame decaled Hummer. The car show Thursday was part of the 2013 D.A.R.E. Conference in Wilmington. D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. The hummer was seized by the Pitt County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit and turned into a car used for D.A.R.E. education events.

The vehicles from law enforcement agencies across the state were judged by fellow officers. Six D.A.R.E. officers from Pitt County attended the conference for training on the new D.A.R.E. curriculum. The conference ran January 7-11.
