The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office says that it is working to positively identify a man accused of raping two children.
We’re told by officials that he was booked as "John Doe" due to him not being able to produce any identification or paperwork to document his actual identity.
Investigators say on January 30th they responded to Vidant Medical Center to investigate a report of sexual assault involving two juvenile female victims.
Officials believe the incidents of sexual assault happened between October of 2012 and May of 2013.
The suspect has been charged with 2 counts of first degree rape, first degree sex offense with a child, indecent liberties with a child and indecent exposure.
He’s being held on a 1 million dollar secured bond.
