Pitt County Sheriff's Office Graduates 20 People From Chaplain Program

After several months of classroom and field training, 20 people from here in the east graduated from one local law enforcement agency's chaplain course.

The Pitt County Sheriff's Office Chaplain's program is a volunteer program that provides a ministry of guidance and counseling to the employees and volunteers of the sheriff's office.

The chaplains provide law enforcement families a trusted source of confidence and encouragement day in and day out, in good times and in bad.
Chaplains also assist the sheriff's office in notifying individuals who have lost a family member in an unexpected manner.

100 friends, family and supporters gathered at the Pitt County courthouse today to watch the presentation of certificates.
