Court has gone nocturnal in Pitt County. The courthouse held it's first session of night court Thursday. She says the goal is to reduce the number of cases piling up during the day, and to give people the chance to get in and out quickly without waiting in long lines.
"I was really surprised because I thought I was going to have to wait until June. So it was very convenient to be able to come in after work, after school, and to be able to use the court system nice and quick, no lines," said Geoffrey Cash
who came to night court to settle a traffic ticket.
Robb says as long as the service is utilized, they'll continue it. She says even infractions such as seat belt violations and expired registrations can be handled at night.
