A Pitt County man, accused of killing another man back on Christmas Eve of 2010, has pleaded guilty as his trial was about to begin.
Kelly Mills pleaded guilty to second degree murder as part of a plea deal, while armed robbery and conspiracy charges were dismissed.
Mills and two other men are accused in the December 24th, 2010 murder of Danny Tyson at the man's Dynamite Drive home. Sheriff Neil Elks said Tyson was shot in the head at point blank range with his own shotgun.
Mills was sentenced to serve between 20 and 25 years in prison, as well as pay $5,000 in restitution.
Charges against Jokshon Prayer have been dropped, while those against Alfred Tyson are still pending.
