Deputies said a Pitt County man was pawning off fake prescriptions at pharmacies around town. Now he is facing criminal charges for it.
There was no mug shot taken of 34-year-old Carl Faircloth Jr. However, deputies said he was charged with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or forgery.
Deputies said they got word of the fake prescriptions in January of this year. Once they picked up the evidence and started investigating, deputies said they traced the fraud to Faircloth Jr.
Faircloth Jr.'s unsecured bond was set at $10,000.
Court calendars show he goes before a judge on that charge Thursday.
