Troopers say two teenagers and a two year old toddler were in a car that ended up in a pond Monday night.
The three all managed to get out safely and were found by authorities sitting on the roof of the car.
The Highway Patrol says the accident happened shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Highway 11 near the Country Mart, outside of Bethel.
19-year-old Michael Oliver, Jr. was driving the vehicle which troopers say was headed north, crossed the center line and ran into the pond.
A 16-year-old and a 2-year-old were passengers.
Troopers say speed was not a factor, and no charges have yet been filed in the crash.
Pitt County crews responded to a vehicle in a pond along Highway 11 in the Bethel area near Country Mart Monday night.
Highway Patrol troopers say two adults and one child were in the vehicle and all managed to get out. There were no injuries.
Highway Patrol says the vehicle was traveling North on 11 when it crossed the center line and ran into a pond.
Troopers say the people inside the vehicle, including a child, were found sitting on the roof of the car.
There's no word why the vehicle crossed the center line and went into the water.
No one has been charged.
