'Person Of Interest' In Vehicle Break-Ins Caught On Home Surveillance Camera

A home surveillance camera caught a person of interest in a series of vehicle break-ins plaguing one Greenville neighborhood.

Police released the surveillance photo Thursday with hopes someone might identify the man.

Since March, a handgun, laptops and other items have been stolen out of eight different cars in the Tuckahoe Drive area. Police say all the break-ins happened at night, and in most cases the vehicles were unlocked.

In the surveillance video, the person of interest is seen walking into the carport, looking around, and then leaving without touching anything. He is described as possibly in his mid to late 30's, wearing a dark colored knit cap, long sleeve shirt, a bubble vest, dark gloves, lighter colored slacks or sweat pants and white shoes with a dark heal.

Anyone with information about these crimes or the person of interest should call Greenville police at (252) 329-4186 or Pitt-Greenville Crime Stoppers (252) 758-7777. They are offering up to a $5,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest.
