Permit Violators Will Be Towed Starting Tuesday In One University Area

Tuesday's the day cars will start getting towed from one Greenville neighborhood if they don't have the right permit.

Non-residents parking in the University area between East 5th Street and the Tar River, and Elm Street and Reade Circle, started receiving $20 tickets on October first. But starting Tuesday, violators will be towed.

A new ordinance requires residents to get a $5 permit to park there for the entire year, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Only residents are eligible for the permits and they have to bring their lease with them to prove their residency when they apply.
