CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Man Charged In Stolen Car Case

Police say a tip through the media helped them nab a suspected car thief.

Kinston police Thursday asked the public's help in identifying a man who was a person of interest in a stolen car case.

After the surveillance picture was distributed, police say someone recognized the man and tipped off authorities.

Jaquan Koonce was arrested around 8:00 p.m. and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, resist obstruct and delay, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police in Kinston are asking for the public's help in identifying two men who are people of interest in a stolen car case.

Police say the grey 2003 Ford Expedition was found stolen around 9:00 a.m. Tuesday from Greenbriar Road.

Around 4:00 p.m. the vehicle was recovered on New Street.

Police released surveillance pictures from the Lunchbox on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard of two men who may have been driving the stolen SUV. The business is a short distance from New Street.
