A winter weather advisory is in effect until 7am on Saturday for Beaufort, Mainland Hyde, Martin, Outer Banks Dare, Tyrrell, Washington and western Dare County. The threats are black ice and slick roadways.
The warm and generally dry weather pattern will continue on Thursday. More clouds will be in the sky as an upper level disturbance and weakening cold front approach the area. A few sprinkles are possible during the afternoon any any rainfall would be light and scattered. Temperatures will be close to 80° in the afternoon, except near 70° on the beaches.
Many locations will rebound into the middle 80s on Friday ahead of another cold front that could bring a few showers at night. Slightly cooler air will arrive for the weekend but skies should become mostly sunny.
