Parents of a two year old have been charged with child abuse after the girl was found with bite marks, bruises, and a broken arm.
Carteret County deputies have charged Frances Willis with felony child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury, while Ayner Cordova-Miranda faces a misdemeanor child abuse count.
Deputies say the Department of Social Services notified them and the two were arrested Wednesday.
An arrest warrant says the father was charged after D.S.S. told him not to leave the child alone with Willis, who they said had a history of child abuse.
D.S.S. has taken the victim, as well as a 6 month old boy, into protective custody. Authorities say the boy was not injured.
Willis was jailed on a $150,000 bond.
