An East Carolina University graduate who was paralyzed in a freak accident at her bachelorette party in 2010 is setting out on a 3-day bike adventure.

Starting Thursday, Rachelle Friedman and her husband Chris will ride from Charlotte to Myrtle Beach within a three day span.

On her Facebook page, Friedman said they will ride 60 miles a day, which is a total of 180 miles.

About the journey, Friedman said, "I'm nervous, but so excited to get back on the handcycle alongside some awesome people."

Back in 2010, a friend playfully pushed Friedman in the pool during her bachelorette party.

Friedman hit her head on the bottom of the pool and broke her neck at the C6 vertebrae.

The impact from the fall left Friedman paralyzed from the chest down.

According to her Facebook page, Friedman now lives in California.
