POLICE: Card Game In Washington Interrupted By Armed Robbery

Police said they got a call of an armed robbery in the middle of a late night card game.

Washington police chief Stacy Drakeford said officers arrived at 111 West 6th Street after a call of an armed robbery at 2:25 Thursday morning.

Witnesses told police they were inside the home playing cards when two men entered the house, one armed with a handgun.

Police said according to reports, some people ran from the scene while one man was pushed to the ground and allowed to get back up.

Drakeford said one victim reported $120, cigarettes, and a New York Yankees hat stolen.

Neighbors told WITN they heard gunshots, however police said they found only one casing in the home.

Police have not named a suspect in the case and the investigation continues.
