POLICE: 4 Teens Arrested For Downtown New Bern Armed Robbery

Police say all four suspects accused in a downtown hold up are now in custody.

New Bern Police said on Monday, August 26th, a local teenaged couple was robbed at gunpoint while walking along the waterfront near the Convention Center in New Bern around 9 p.m.

Officers said the robbers took off with the young woman's iPhone.

By September 7th, police said 19-year-old Landra Newsome and 19-year-old Doshe Best Jr. were arrested for robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Both Newsome and Best Jr. were given a $100,000 secured bond and made their first appearances in Craven County District Court on Monday.

On Tuesday, the remaining two suspects in the hold up were arrested, according to officers.

19-year-old Jaques Nelson and 16-year-old Jamal Edwards were both charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Nelson's bond was set at $115,000 and Edwards' bond was set at $35,000 ahead of their first court appearances.
