Onslow County Woman Dies In Weekend Crash

An Onslow County woman was killed in a single vehicle accident Sunday afternoon.

State troopers say Maxine Cummings' vehicle ran off Gum Branch Road, hit a ditch and then struck a utility pole.

The wreck happened around 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Cow Horn Road. Troopers are still investigating, but say speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
