UPDATE: Onslow County Deputy Runs Into Fence, Parked Vehicle

The Highway Patrol says that an Onslow County deputy lost control of his vehicle before running into a fence and a parked vehicle.

Troopers say that around 6:49 Sunday morning, deputy Zaire Duckett of Jacksonville was driving west on Highway 24 near Hubert Boulevard, when he ran off the road to the right, came back onto the road, then back off to the right again. Duckett struck a metal fence and a parked vehicle in the parking lot of Hawg Wild biker bar, according to officials.

Duckett is said to have noticeable injuries, but will be okay. No charges have been filed in the accident.

Highway Patrol says that an Onslow County Deputy was involved in a crash early Sunday morning.

Sgt. King with the Highway Patrol says that it happened while a deputy was driving on NC 24 and was near the intersection of Hubert Boulevard. Highway Patrol communications says that the accident happened just before 7 a.m.

Sgt. King wasn’t able to provide specific details to the crash because he wasn’t the investigating trooper, but was able to say that the injuries to the deputy were not serious.
