POLICE: Gang Member Arrested In Wilson City Park Murder

Police have made an arrest in a city park shooting that left one man dead and another wounded.

Wilson police charged Marcus Hilliard with first degree murder, five counts of attempted first degree murder and five counts of assault with a deadly weapon with attempt to kill.

The shooting happened last Tuesday night at the Freeman Street Park.

Killed was 20-year-old Estevan Martinez of Wilson, while 18-year-old Douglas Medina was wounded.

Police say Hilliard is a validated gang member and they expect other gang members to be charged.

Police have not announced any arrests in a shooting at a city park that killed one man and wounded another .

Wilson police say they got a call around 9:50 p.m. Tuesday night to Freeman Street Park for shots fired.

There they found 20-year-old Estevan Martinez of Wilson dead at the scene, while 18-year-old Douglas Medina was suffering from minor injuries.
