Trailing candidates in three close races must decide whether they'll seek recounts now that all 100 North Carolina counties finished counting ballots from the November election.

State elections officials updated totals Saturday after collecting the last figures from Friday's canvass in Buncombe and Caswell counties.

The numbers show Republican Dan Forest leading Democrat Linda Coleman for lieutenant governor by 6,307 votes and Democratic 7th District congressman Mike McIntyre leading Republican David Rouzer by 655 votes.

Forest and McIntyre have declared themselves winners.

Coleman and Rouzer have until Tuesday to demand recounts.

State Sen. Stan White of Dare County also could seek a recount. He saw his lead evaporate and now trails Republican Bill Cook by 32 votes.
