New resource guide for veterans

Governor Pat McCrory has announced the release of the 2015 resource guide for veterans, along with an updated website that focuses on federal Veterans Affairs benefits and other issues.

The guide and website are called NC4Vets. In addition to benefits, they provide information on employment, education, health care, housing and personal services for North Carolina veterans.

About 800,000 veterans live in North Carolina.

The 2015 guide has doubled in content from the 2014 guide, and contains more than 350 contacts to employment and career services; more than 100 nonprofits focused on veterans; and details on how to work with a state veterans service officer.

You can call 1-844-NC4-VETS for more information.
