New technology designed to ease traffic congestion at intersections has made its way to some Greenville roads. Radar detection technology has been installed at the intersections of Arlington Boulevard and Evans Street as well as Greenville Boulevard and Bismark Street in Greenville.
The sensors are mounted on utility poles above the intersections and can trigger traffic lights to turn green or red when cars are sensed.
The radar is so sensitive it can even detect pedestrians and bicyclists.
City officials say the technology will last longer than current systems and helps cut down costs in the long run.
