New Pitt County Teachers Learn The Tricks Of The Trade

Classes begin in just a few weeks and all this week some new teachers in Pitt County are learning more about their new jobs during an induction ceremony.

During the program being held at Lakeforest Elementary School, new teachers will be working with district instructional resource specialists, instructional coaches, and department heads.

The focus of the program is acclimating new employees to the school district, procedures, policies and licensure.

We asked some new teachers what they think about the state education budget which has many districts holding off on hiring and buying new teaching materials.

Christopher Clark, a first year teacher, told us, "Everyone jokes that teachers aren't going to make a lot of money -- you don't do it for the money -- it's for the kids and that's how your mindset has to be really."

School begins in Pitt County August 26th.
