New Bern Police Officer Crashes On Bridge En Route To Bank Robbery

A New Bern police officer crashed their cruiser on a snow covered bridge this morning, while on their way to a bank robbery.

Authorities say it happened around 9:45 a.m. on the Alfred Cunningham Bridge that crosses the Trent River into downtown.

The patrol car slid into the side of the bridge. It does not appear the police officer was injured.

Police say the officer was en route to a bank robbery call when the accident happened.
