The district attorney says they're investigating whether self defense was involved in a shooting Monday that killed one man and wounded two others in New Bern.
The shooting happened at an automotive shop in the 2100 block of South Carolina Avenue, that's off of Oaks Road around 11:15 a.m.
D.A. Scott Thomas says they are interviewing additional witnesses and an autopsy is being conducted today.
He said the shooter is not in custody, and that person is cooperating with investigators.
Thomas said the victims and shooter knew each other, but wouldn't elaborate any further.
Killed was Andrew West of Vanceboro, while Marcello Bryant of Cove City and Terrell Evans of New Bern were wounded. Bryant, who was transferred to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, was listed in serious condition Tuesday afternoon.
Police say one person was killed Monday morning in a triple shooting in New Bern.

Lt. Rhonda Allen says Andrew West of Vanceboro was found shot in a yard at Dail Street and Florida Avenue. He died later at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
Marcello Bryant of Cove City was found shot in a vehicle on Alabama Avenue. Allen says Bryant was transferred to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
A third victim, Terrell Evans of New Bern, showed up at CarolinaEast with a gunshot wound.
Police say a person at the scene was taken in for questioning and they say he is the shooter. That person's name has yet to be released.
The murder victim has a couple drug convictions, as well as a pending cocaine trafficking charge in Craven County.
State records show Bryant has multiple drug convictions and another for manslaughter in 2006.
Evans also has multiple drug convictions, another for attempted armed robbery and accessory to second degree murder.
