POLICE: Drug Deal Gone Bad, Ends With Man Shot In The Behind

New Bern police are investigating a shooting in the city around 9:30 Tuesday night.

Police say 20-year-old Samuel Manning Jr. of Havelock was shot in the buttocks at the Stanley White Recreation Center on Chapman St. in New Bern.

Police said it appears the shot was fired after a drug deal went awry.

The victim was outside on one the ballfields when he was shot, according to police.

The victim's injuries are considered non-life threatening.

Manning was taken from CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

No arrests have been reported.
