Nearly 3,700 Graduate From ECU

More than 3,000 ECU students are starting a new chapter in their lives now that they've graduated.

Friday was graduation day at ECU and a sea of purple and gold filled Dowdy Ficklen stadium.

Now comes the task of moving from student to employee and finding a job.

While some students we talked with say they're struggling to find work in this economy, others like Tyler Cook already have a job. Cook says, "All of us have jobs coming out. The construction management department did really well getting us prepared. My friend Jason had five job offers. I had four, so we're really happy."

Geoffrey Barba said, "Right after my internship I was hired as a personal trainer at Vidant Wellness Center, so I'll be working there."

Other grads tell us they plan on going to graduate school to hopefully better their chances of landing a job.

Of the estimated 3,690 students graduating, 982 were graduate degree candidates, 71 were from the Brody School of Medicine and the rest were bachelor degree candidates.
